In collaboration with the Sisters’ internal team and the Lawrence Group, Belle & Wissell created a series of integrated media installations for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word’s new museum in San Antonio, Texas.
Also known as CCVI (Congregatio Charitatis a Verbo Incarnato), the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word was founded in San Antonio in 1869. It is one of the largest religious communities in the area, and serves people all around the world through educational, social, health, and justice ministries.
CCVI asked Belle & Wissell to help describe and honor their legacy in an intuitive, participatory experience suitable for the congregation’s visitors and members of all ages. The resulting three-station (multi-touch) interactive timeline portrays CCVI’s rich history and missionary work around the globe.
A horizontal timeline contains stories specific to CCVI, along with contextual stories describing the religious and world events of the era. Media-rich narratives present the Sisterhood’s history in a digestible, engaging way; layered content allows users to quickly browse by their interests or dive deep into the history. The CCVI Legacy Timeline also includes a comprehensive directory of sisters, past and present, bringing focus to the individuals who made such impact on their local and international communities.
