“You and We” is a collaborative project created by Seb Chevrel and Gabe Kean that experiments with and pushes the boundaries between audience and artist.

Viewers are asked to upload text and images, thereby contributing to this ever-evolving canvas. The display pulls randomly from the submissions, creating a unique experience with each visit.

On August 16th, 2002, “You and We” was installed publicly at a literary arts event titled “The We Experiment” at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Oregon (organized by Born Magazine.)

Over 500 people witnessed the results of this collective experiment, first online July 1st, 2002. Today there are over 900 contributors with 5,500 text and 2,000 image submissions.
